College Admissions Counseling Service
Expert Guidance to Ensure Wise College Choices
We offer the following services for students and their families:

Initial Consultation

The aim of the first consultation is to explore how you can best prepare for the college admissions process. This interactive session is appropriate for students in grades 9-12 and their parent(s). Consultation is also appropriate for transfer students and adults seeking college admissions.

In order to best assess academic and personal strengths, students are encouraged to prepare an evaluation packet, including: copies of PSAT scores, SAT scores (if available), high school transcript, and a Student Questionnaire.

Parents are requested to complete a brief Parent Perspective Statement.

This information will be used to complete an individualized College Information Worksheet and to begin the college search. At the end of the session participants will have information to answer the following questions:

How do colleges evaluate applicants?

What colleges are “best fits” for me?

How do I begin the college search process?
Customized Interviews
One-hour consultations are available to explore specific college issues identified in the initial consultation. While this interview generally occurs in person, it may also be conducted via e-mail or phone for those students whose time is limited or who do not live in the New York City area.

Individual and family college counseling sessions take place in our Forest Hills office. However, counseling sessions can also be scheduled in a client’s home or at a mutually agreed upon site.

For students who do not live in the New York City area and for those families whose time is limited, scheduled telephone sessions and e-mail communication are popular options for college advisement, review of personal essays, and interview practice.

Group Sessions
Multiple family group workshops on the college search process are also available. These workshops can be scheduled for schools, churches, synagogues, libraries or individual homes.

After the initial consultation, the following options are available:
